Hoi An was spared much of the destruction of the
Vietnam War and has preserved many of its ancient
relics. The town has a thriving artists colony
and visitors can buy unique and unusual works
of art. Its blend of Japanese and Chinese architecture
is only found in this ancient port city.
The regional food in Hoi An is superb and attracts
a lot of tourists. Hoi An was the first place
in Vietnam to be exposed to Christianity. Many
travellers have commented that this it one of
the best sights in Vietnam.
