Pattaya is located 147 kilometers southeast of Bangkok or only about two-hour drive. Pattaya is Thailand's premier beach resort and annually attracts hundreds of thousand of tourists from all over the world. Visitors can windsurf, water ski, swim, sunbath, snorkel, sail, or take trips to offshore coral islands. You can rent water scooters to explore Pattaya bay, and motorcycles and jeeps to explore neighbouring beaches or take a bost trip to nearny islands such as Coral Island or Koh Samet.

Pattaya is working very hard on cleaning up its bad reputation as a sex resort. Nevertheless Pattaya is still a party city for people looking for legal fun. It is like an a la carte menu, each visitor can choose those items that suit their taste. And there is a lot to do in Pattaya both in the daytime and at night. Apart from the obvious choice of going to the beach to relax and swim why not try some of the entertainment parks in and around the City.

Nong Noch Tropical Gardens is actually known for its "Cultural Show". There are three daily shows. What is not so widely known is that the primary business of Nong Noch is Architectural Landscaping and a Tropical Nursery.

Khao Kheaw Open Zoo is worth a visit and has bears, elephants, buffaloes, monkeys, snakes. The key attraction is the huge aviary. This structure covers over 100 acres and houses more than 100 different kinds of birds.

Also worth a look is Jomtien beach about 3 kms south. This is a rapidly developing area with emphasis on beach life rather than sleaze. There are several excellent golf courses within 15 minutes taxi ride including the 27 hole Phoenix, and the excellent Pattaya Country Club. Further south (30 mins) is the Navy course near Sattahip, this is a beautiful 18 hole course and still has cheap green fees.
