Koh
Samui is loacted 295 miles or 475 kms south of
Bangkok. There are many ways to get to Koh Samui.
The easiest but the costliest way is to fly. There
are direct flights from Bangkok and Phuket to
Koh Samui. Or you can take a comfortable train
journey. For this you will have to go to Hualumphong
Railway Station. Another way is to use an ecstatic
11-hour bus ride from Bangkok to Surat Thani.
For this you will have to go to Southern Bus Station.
From Hualumphong Bus number 7 goes to Southern
Bus Station. At Surat Thani, you will have to
take a ferry for a two-hour ride to the island.

A
must see while in Koh Samui is Grandfather and
Grandmother rocks. These rocks are not far from
Lamai beach, are well known for their slight resemblance
to certain features of both the male and female
anatomy.
Ther
are many activities like diving among reefs off
neighboring islands. You can also take the daylong
cruise from the Na Thon pier to the Ang Thong
National Marine Park. The park is a series of
beautiful tropical isles with interesting rock
formations and coral reefs. Or rent a bicycle
or motorcycle for touring (a paved road circles
the island). Or even follow one of the hiking
paths that lead inland to waterfalls.
