to consider when applying for a visa |
- Make
sure your attire is presentable,
no shorts, torn clothes, sandals
etc.
- Bring
your ticket or itinerary showing
your departure out of Taiwan.
- You
must bring 2 passport photos with
your application.
- Express
Service is available in Ho Chi Ming
for an additional 50% of your regular
fee.
- You
will need an employment authorization
from the Council of Affairs if you
are applying for a resident visa
in order to get an ARC.
- If
you are applying for a tourist visa
you will need proof of financial
support such as a bank account statement
showing sufficient funds.

The
airport is located 40 kms west of
Seoul. Taxi to city center takes 60-70mins
and costs KRW 36,000-63,000. Bus express
service to hotels run every 10 mins.

The office was easy to find and there was
no one else there applying for a visa. I'm
pretty sure they accept applications for
visas until they close ( at 3pm ), but I
went in the morning. ( One of the ladies
who works the window gave me her phone number
in case I changed my mind about the type
of visa I was applying for and said I had
until 3pm to decide). You CAN'T get a rush
visa the same day. I paid normal price +
50% for a rush visa and I was able to pick
it up the following morning by 10 am. Otherwise,
normal processing time is 2 working days.
I stayed at the Korea Guesthouse which is
in the Lonely Planet book, and costs 15,000
won a night ( about 16 U.S.$)
