Points to consider when applying for a visa
  • Make sure you have another piece if ID that you can leave with the security guard at the entrance of the consulate
  • Bring your ticket or itinerary showing your departure out of Taiwan.
  • Make sure your attire is presentable, no shorts, torn clothes, sandals etc.
  • Usual service is 3 business days and express is 1 business day. Note: this is after the application has been received. So in fact you drop off one day and can pick it up the next day.
  • Application fee is 1950 pesos - Rush service 1000 pesos
  • You must bring 2 passport photos with your application (there is a passport photo shop near the consulate.
  • Bring your ticket or itinerary showing your departure out of Taiwan.
  • You will need an employment authorization from the Council of Affairs if you are applying for a resident visa in order to get an ARC.
  • If you are applying for a tourist visa you will need proof of financial support such as a bank account statement showing sufficient funds.
Transportation to and from the airport

Once you exit customs in the airport you will notice different booths that can rent you a private car to Makati. If you want something a little cheaper you can get a cab from 400 peso to700 pesos depending on where you are going. They have all the set rates posted so you should pay a reasonable fare.
